A Rear Tipper for a 406 with Case Deck

Here are a few extra shots of my dump bed. Occasionally, folks ask me about the construction, so here are some details.
The lift was cut out of an unused Venco hoist made for a Ford F-SuperDuty or something similar. It's a 3-ton capacity single cylinder scissor lift and all I basically had to do was shorten it. The hoist bolts through the Case Deck with two 1" bolts through the same holes that the Schmidt snow cutter engine used. It rests and pivots at the rear in the hooks for the backhoe.
I made the pivots with my lathe, from some cold-rolled steel and schedule 80 pipe. They are greasable via the zerks you see in the photo above. The raised section you see in the first photo at the top of the page creates clearance for the hoist underneath. While I could have lowered the hoist some to gain a flat floor, I wanted to keep the space underneath for a large hydraulic winch. Framework for the bed is made from 2x3x1/4" tubing, 2x2x1/8" tubing, and 1/2" and 1/4" plate. Capacity is 2.15 yards when level with the top. Fill it with gravel and it's HEAVY!
Again, feel free to email me if you have any further questions...
