Elsa-Mae and Minna-Muis

We're Daddy's new doggies!  He rescued us from kennel life in Denver.  We were both saved from kill-shelters by Snow Capped Shepherd Rescue (SCSR), and when Dad's best-bud Charlis-Dog died, SCSR matched him to us!  They thought we would be JUST what he needed, and we are.  In the picture above, we've come up for a pre-adoption visit to see if we like it here.  We do!

We're Yin and Yang.  (Or coffee and cream, as our coats may suggest...)  Elsa-Mae is a lazy, warm-hearted Malinois (Belgian Shepherd).  Here she is, Queen of the Ranch, after taking a hike with Dad on the ridges in front of the house...

She's such a pretty girl...

...and she LOVES Bully Sticks with a passion!  It's the ONLY thing that will get her mind off of Dad when he leaves her in the pickup's back seat!  After being forced to churn out puppies for most of her life until being abandoned, it's appropriate that she can eat these treats and enjoy them so much.  (If you don't know what they are, say "Bully Sticks" a few times over.)

She loves Dad too, of course...

Minna-Muis (MIN-ah MOUSE) is some sort of Aussie Cattle Dog (heeler) cross with a desire to learn everything she can about her boundaries.  She's a little growl-monster right now and takes some time to warm up to new people, like her people-grandma.  She sure loves her dad tho', and thinks his whole face needs to smell like HER breath, not Elsa's!

Shortly after moving in, it would appear Dad's lost his sofa and will be watching TV from the floor...

October 13th, 2012 - Minna's now been here for a little over two months.  The girls get along well, keep each other company when I have to step out, and Minna really has helped Elsa with her separation anxiety!  Elsa had to get some stitches a few days ago (Elsa, meet barbed wire fence) and I left her at the clinic.  When I returned a few hours later, the gals there said Elsa was NOT happy without her dad!

Here they are in bed, napping together...

They just LOVE cheese...

...and chipmunks...

...and Miss Minna never misses a good sunset!

Notice in the above photos that she has graduated to "naked dog" - no collar at home.  She never leaves Dad's side...  I swear Charlis lives through her.  It's amazing how quickly she became my child, too.
