Yellowstone and the Tetons, July 2008

Anna's father, Frits, decided to visit us in Wyoming this summer. He lives in The Netherlands and works for the Dutch GPS company, Tomtom. While he travels quite a bit for his job, he didn't know what to expect with his daughter living in Wyoming!
Anna wanted to show him around the state and hoped we could get up to Yellowstone while he was here. Darrin wasn't too sure about that - the last time he went in the summer, all he saw was the back of giant RVs! We decided to give it a try anyway, and with the highest fuel prices ever in the USA we lucked out with a fairly empty Park experience.
On Frits' first night here, Anna made her great bolognaise sauce and we had a nice meal on our back patio, with the sun going down on the mountain behind us...

The next morning, Anna and Frits took a walk down our driveway as the sun came over the mountain to light up the hills below...

We spent the rest of the day on a 120 mile loop tour, driving behind the mountains you see in the photo above. Along the way, we stopped at Curtis Gulch Campground for a picnic lunch...
